About the school
Macquarie Fields Public School was established in 1957 and has developed into a large primary school that celebrates cultural diversity, with 78% of its students coming from language backgrounds other than English. The school provides quality academic, cultural, and sporting programs, following its motto, 'Let Us Excel.' Academic enrichment is provided through classes for gifted and talented students as well as literacy support for students in Stage One.
The school is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported. Extra-curricular activities abound, including choir, steel band, chess, dance groups, and a skipping team. Students have numerous opportunities to engage in sports, including participating in carnivals and representing the school at zone, area, and state levels.
A strong partnership with the local community and an active parent body enhances the school's positive image. The core values are reflected in school rules that emphasise safety, kindness, cooperation, and respect. The dedicated staff work closely with families to support every student's unique learning needs, ensuring that they thrive both academically and personally. This commitment allows students to build confidence, resilience, and skills that are essential for future success.
