About the school
Campbell House School is a specialised high school located in Glenfield, catering to the learning and welfare needs of approximately 56 high school aged students. The school is dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment tailored for students who face emotional, behavioural, or conduct disorders yet possess normal cognitive abilities. Serving students from years seven to twelve, around 25% of the student population identifies as Aboriginal and another 25% resides in care facilities.
The diverse student body comes with a range of social, emotional, and academic challenges. To address these needs, Campbell House School implements responsive, Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards approved programs designed to facilitate ongoing improvement across all facets of school life.
A key commitment of the school is to foster quality partnerships with parents, carers, and the broader community. This is achieved through the employment of a Community Support Officer and collaboration with local organisations. Campbell House School's clear mission focuses on promoting individual student development and establishing pathways for future learning by encouraging positive relationships within a supportive learning environment. Recently, the school underwent a significant upgrade to enhance its educational facilities, ensuring state-of-the-art environments for both students and staff.
In addition to its academic offerings, the school prioritises supporting the health and wellbeing of its students, employing programs that foster emotional regulation and positive relationships. The school's approach embodies a deep respect for Aboriginal cultures, aiming to enhance opportunities for First Nations students while educating non-Indigenous students about these significant histories and cultures.
