設有學前班的新州公立學校
**教育部學前班（Department pre-school）**是設於新州公立學校校內的幼兒教育服務，供入讀幼稚園前一年的兒童就讀。只有少數公立學校設有學前班，因此此列表遠比幼稚園列表短。
誰可以入讀
兒童在年滿四歲當年可以入讀，但須於該年 7 月 31 日或之前滿四歲。學位有限，按教育部政策優先取錄原住民及托雷斯海峽島民兒童、低收入家庭兒童，以及有殘疾或額外需要的兒童。一般為每星期固定日數的兼讀形式，教育部學前班目前免收學費。
兒童學甚麼
學前班不屬於 NESA 的學校課程。課程依循全國的幼兒學習框架（Early Years Learning Framework），着重以遊戲為本的學習、語言、社交技巧及自信心，而非正式的讀寫訓練。學前班設於同一校址，可讓兒童更熟悉之後升讀幼稚園的環境，但入讀某校的學前班本身並不保證能在該校取得幼稚園學位。
