About the school
Welcome to Strathfield South High School, where the focus is on developing students as learners and individuals. The school fosters a harmonious environment, proudly hosting students from nearly 50 countries and a wide array of cultural, religious, and language backgrounds, including those with Hearing Impairment and Autism. The experienced teaching staff are dedicated to providing high-quality education and welfare support, helping students to achieve their best outcomes.
Educational Programs
Strathfield South High School offers a diverse curriculum, enhancing academic excellence through various programs, including vocational education and life skills courses. The unique Compressed Curriculum model allows Senior students to study three subjects over twelve months, facilitating a broader range of subjects and personalised learning outcomes. This model is designed to reduce stress while providing in-depth engagement with teachers and the curriculum.
To support Year 7 students transitioning into high school, a Middle School model was implemented, with structured classes that mirror primary school environments. This includes fewer teachers, allowing for a supportive atmosphere as students adapt to high school life.
Extracurricular Opportunities
The school boasts award-winning extracurricular programs such as solar car racing, and has been recognised for its environmental initiatives. Students participate in the World Solar Challenge, showcasing their skills at an elite level. Community involvement is also encouraged through outreach programs assisting senior citizens and working in early childhood settings.
At Strathfield South High School, the development of every student is a priority. With a comprehensive approach to education, students are prepared for future success, both academically and personally.
Mission
We help every student to learn, grow and succeed.
