Mount Austin High School is an inclusive, comprehensive public high school located in Wagga Wagga, focused intensely on teaching and learning. A significant aspect of the school’s history is its strong involvement in sports, with numerous alumni having represented Australia in various disciplines.
Curriculum and Learning Model
Senior students engage in a compressed model of HSC delivery, undertaking three discrete subjects each year during their final years. This innovative approach caters to a wide range of student interests, resulting in high retention rates. Additionally, the Big Picture Education Academy offers a project-based learning model that integrates internships into the curriculum.

Mount Austin High School features modern facilities, such as recently refurbished science laboratories and a Trade Training Centre that provides vocational education in Construction, Metals, Engineering, and Hospitality. The school promotes a healthy lifestyle through its fully equipped gymnasium and supports cultural pursuits with award-winning Hip Hop crews and Aboriginal dance groups.
Aboriginal Education and Community Engagement
The school takes pride in supporting over 200 Aboriginal students, with dedicated teams providing educational leadership and cultural understanding through the "8 Ways" of learning. Collaborations with local universities enhance educational opportunities for Aboriginal and low SES students.
