About the school
Situated in the suburb of Horningsea Park, John Edmondson High School has a diverse drawing area that includes the recently developed suburbs of Horningsea Park and Greenway Park, as well as the semi-rural and rural areas of Austral, Bringelly, Leppington, and Rossmore. The school is constructed under the Private Public Partnership program, with a facilities management company responsible for maintenance, cleaning, and security.
Educational Focus
John Edmondson High School aims to lead in educational excellence, with priority areas from 2015 to 2017 focusing on Leadership and Building Capacity, Enhancing Engagement, and quality teaching and learning across literacy and numeracy. The school develops students' capacity for enquiry, encouraging them to respect their peers and teachers while reflecting on their efforts honestly.
Programs and Support
The school offers a broad curriculum that includes programs in STEM, sports, and the creative arts, fostering curiosity and critical thinking. Tailored learning support is provided to meet the diverse needs of students, including high potential and gifted students, students with disabilities, and those requiring additional wellbeing support. With the implementation of the Cooler Classrooms project, the school ensures a healthy learning environment.
Community and Growth
The school actively partners with industry and local communities to support its students’ growth. Enrolment is open, but the school has exceeded its enrolment cap, limiting new students to those living within the local intake area. Changes to intake areas are expected as a new school is set to open nearby in 2027, affecting future enrolments.
Courage and Integrity are the guiding principles of John Edmondson High School, which prides itself on its commitment to quality education in an inclusive environment.

We offer high-quality, comprehensive education in an inclusive learning environment. Our school provides a high-quality, low-cost education that supports every child’s growth. We’re proud of our students’ success in learning, competitions and life beyond school.
