About the school
Windale Public School is situated in Lake Macquarie, only 20 minutes' drive from Newcastle's CBD. The school community at Windale Public School ensures the wellbeing of all students, from Preschool to Year 6. It implements programs that allow each child to reach their full potential academically, physically, culturally, morally, and spiritually, within the framework of the NSW Public Education System. The classroom programs provide a differentiated curriculum to meet the learning needs of all students, with the Early Action for Success Program in operation, focusing on high-quality Literacy and Numeracy outcomes.
Students have access to a variety of learning opportunities, such as sporting events, performing arts programs including StarStruck and choir groups, and participation in debating and public speaking competitions. Modern technology, such as iPads and Promethean boards, enhances the teaching and learning experience. Support is provided by Learning and Support Teachers, an Aboriginal Education Officer, and School Learning Support Officers.
Windale Public School also boasts an on-site Preschool, offering a five-day fortnight program that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Its Schools as Community Centre (SaCC) plays a vital role in engaging children aged 0-8 years and their families through various activities and workshops. The school operates a daily Breakfast Club and promotes active involvement among families to foster a robust school community. Windale Public School is a proud member of the Waiyarang Community of Schools.
