About the school
Westfields Sports High School is Australia's first Sports High School, located in Fairfield West. The school is dedicated to providing students with educational opportunities and quality resources essential for achieving personal excellence in scholarship, citizenship, sport, and the arts. It offers a comprehensive education to local students as well as talented athletes, helping them pursue their sporting dreams while also receiving a high-quality education.
Academic Excellence
Westfields Sports has established a strong academic tradition, excelling in the Higher School Certificate (HSC) with numerous students achieving outstanding results. In 2023, the HSC dux attained an impressive ATAR of 98.25. The school focuses on enhancing literacy and numeracy skills, employing differentiation and explicit teaching strategies. Notably, it offers acceleration courses in English, Mathematics, and Science to enable high-performing students to excel.
Sports Programs and Recognition
As a holder of the prestigious International Olympic Committee's 'Sport and Youth Trophy', the school is acknowledged for its significant contributions to sports in Australia and globally. It is also designated as an official 'Olympic Pathways School', further underscoring its commitment to developing elite student-athletes.
