About the school
Canley Heights Public School is a large primary school located in a low/medium density residential area in Fairfield, south-west of Sydney. With approximately 555 students, including 40 preschool children, the school serves a culturally and linguistically diverse community, with over 95% of students coming from language backgrounds other than English. The main languages spoken include Vietnamese, Khmer, Arabic, Samoan, and Chinese, while about 2.5% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The school is committed to addressing the educational needs of its students through substantial equity funding, enabling the development of targeted literacy and numeracy initiatives, as well as significant EAL/D and Community Language programs.
