Chester Hill High School
Strength in Unity, Excellence in Education.
About the school
Chester Hill High School is situated in south western Sydney within the Fairfield School Education Area. Established in 1962, the school is renowned for its Intensive English Centre, launched in 1978. The majority of students come from language backgrounds other than English, contributing to a diverse and multicultural environment that the school fosters. Chester Hill High School celebrates these differences and is dedicated to ensuring that every student feels valued and included.
Academic Excellence
The school maintains a commitment to academic success, demonstrated by consistent achievement in public examinations and assessments, often exceeding state averages. Committed educators use evidence-informed practices and targeted interventions to maximise student achievement across all learning areas, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations.
Values and Wellbeing
Chester Hill High School prioritises student wellbeing and inclusivity, with a strong focus on creating a safe and respectful learning environment. The school's positive behaviour for learning motto, 'I am a safe, respectful learner who belongs at Cheso,' exemplifies its dedication to fostering positive attitudes among students. The school's values encompass safety, respect, learning, and belonging, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing each student’s potential.
One of the highlights of the school calendar is International Flag Day, celebrating the inclusive ethos and multicultural representation within the school community. The school utilises funding from the Resource Allocation Model to enhance learning outcomes and develop positive partnerships with the home, school, and community.
