About the school

Rowland Hassall School caters for students with an intellectual disability and other secondary disabilities by providing quality education that enables them to become independent and responsible citizens. The school promotes active participation from parents and carers in its activities, fostering a cooperative partnership in learning and a caring, supportive environment.

Located within walking distance of the Parramatta CBD, Rowland Hassall School is accessible by train and bus transport, serving a diverse community from districts including Parramatta, Fairfield, Granville, south western Sydney, and extending west to the Blue Mountains. The full school team collaborates to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to teaching and learning, emphasising consultation and collaboration at all levels.

In response to increasing student enrolments, Rowland Hassall School relocated to a larger site on the eastern side of Woodville Road in Old Guildford. The new facilities, completed in July 2017, offer contemporary and flexible learning environments tailored to the needs of students with disabilities, featuring ten teaching areas that can accommodate up to 70 students.

The school is committed to rebuilding public education infrastructure and enhancing the learning experiences through various programs, including routine maintenance and upgrades to facilities. A focus on continuous improvement ensures that Rowland Hassall School remains a vibrant educational institution dedicated to the well-being and success of every student.
