About the school
Sydney Boys High School provides equal opportunity for boys to achieve excellence in academic, cultural, sporting and social endeavours, all within an environment conducive to learning, teaching and friendship. The school's uniqueness lies in its tradition as the first state secondary school specifically designed as a tertiary preparation institution. Furthermore, it is a proud member of the Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools and actively participates in Combined High Schools Sports Association knockout competitions. The school features a selective enrolment intake and shares its site with Sydney Girls High School.
Supported by various incorporated organisations and school committees, including the Sydney High School Foundation Inc., the High Club Inc., and the Sydney Boys High School Council among others, partnerships among staff, students, parents, alumni, and supporters are fundamental to the operation of Sydney Boys High.
