Hurstville Public School has been providing quality education since 1876 and is located in the southern suburbs of Sydney, within walking distance of the main shopping centre. Catering to over 1,000 students, ninety-five percent of whom come from non-English language backgrounds, the school predominantly serves a Chinese cultural community. Hurstville Public School offers four Opportunity Classes for gifted and talented students, as well as four Special Education classes for students with special needs.
