Rural & Remote Health Support

Who attends

Children from rural and remote communities are referred when they need assessment or support that is not readily available where they live. They attend the on-site school while they receive multidisciplinary care, and remain enrolled at their home school throughout. A stay is short-term and centred on the child's health and developmental needs rather than on a permanent change of school.

What the school provides

Teaching staff provide instruction aligned with each child's home school curriculum so that learning continues during the stay, working alongside the health and allied-health professionals who deliver the child's care. They keep in contact with the home school so the child can settle back in smoothly once they return, and so families and local teachers are supported in continuing any recommended strategies.
