About the school
Glenvale School plays a vital role in providing special education services to students from across the Central Coast district whose special needs cannot be adequately met in regular school settings. The primary purpose of the school is to offer programs for students aged four to eighteen years with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. Accommodation is provided across two campuses, located in Narara and North Entrance, with an additional satellite class based at Valley View Public School.
In addition to direct education, Glenvale School also functions as a resource centre, home to a support team that provides integration and transition outreach support services to surrounding schools. The school's objective is to nurture knowledge, skills, and behaviours in a caring environment, encouraging students to participate as fully and independently as possible in life.
Glenvale School's mission is to ensure that each student leaves equipped with a communication system that allows them to convey their needs, socially appropriate behaviours, and skills that enable them to lead a fulfilling life. With a commitment to providing quality education and support, Glenvale School also fosters a sense of community, working closely with families and allied health practitioners to tailor learning plans that suit the unique needs of each student.
Mission
Our objective is to develop in each of our students the knowledge, skills and behaviours that they need to participate in life as fully and as independently as possible. Our vision is that every student will leave school with: a communication system that enables them to communicate their needs with a variety of communication partners; behaviour that is socially appropriate, and the skills to live a full, happy life that they value.
