About the school
Macarthur Girls High School is located on the banks of the Parramatta River in Parramatta, having been established in 1934 on a historically significant site. Originally part of the second oldest land grant in Australia, the school's grounds were once home to the stately home Newlands, built by Reverend Samuel Marsden. Over the years, the school has undergone expansions in 1955 and 1975, continually adapting to meet the needs of its students.
The school fosters an environment aimed at encouraging students to achieve their personal best and beyond. By providing a curriculum designed for the Higher School Certificate, Macarthur Girls High School offers a mix of traditional, future-focused, and Vocational Education courses. This diverse curriculum is tailored to cater to the interests and needs of all students, ensuring that everyone is known, valued, and cared for.
At Macarthur Girls High School, the commitment to individualised learning is apparent. The school implements programmes centred around its values of Participation, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence. These PRIDE values are integral to the school culture, embraced by both staff and students, and contribute significantly to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. Notably, the school also champions wellbeing initiatives and provides opportunities for growth in leadership, the arts, and sports, encouraging students to develop their passions and cultivate a love for lifelong learning.
Mission
We help every student to learn, grow and succeed. The school PRIDE values - Participation, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence are embedded in all that we do. Whole school wellbeing programs and student initiatives ensure that our students feel a strong sense of belonging.
