About the school

Birrong Boys High School is an inclusive educational institution that prides itself on valuing every student equally. The school community adheres to its motto, 'From each his best', fostering an environment where students can learn in a supportive and respectful atmosphere. Birrong Boys High School employs Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS) aimed at proactively enhancing academic performance, safety, and overall school culture.

The school collaborates closely with parents, staff, and students to create a nurturing and safe space conducive to learning, with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on literacy, numeracy, information and communication technology, and student engagement. The dedicated teaching staff, which blends experienced educators with newer talent, is constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance student engagement and success.

An extensive array of opportunities, including extension and enrichment programmes, ensures students can develop their skills across various subjects. Extra-curricular activities range from debating, music, and athletics to a renowned Environmental Sustainability Programme. Leadership opportunities, such as the Student Representative Council and peer tutoring, are incorporated to assist younger students in their transition to high school through a supportive mentoring program.

Birrong Boys High School also provides additional academic support through its Homework Centre and HSC tutorials, ensuring students are well-prepared for examinations. As part of their pathway planning, all students leave with a transition plan, which includes a resume and applications for university and TAFE.

Mission

At Birrong Boys High School, our vision is to empower our students to reach their full potential through a commitment to academic excellence, personal development, and future readiness.
