About the school
Maroubra Junction Public School is an energetic school in Maroubra that actively promotes a love of learning while celebrating achievements and fostering community pride. The school provides a quality learning environment that recognises students as individuals in academic, cultural, and sporting areas. The school values strong links with the parent community and the wider community.
Being a recently built school, it boasts outstanding modern facilities, including spacious classrooms, a library, a computer room, a hall, and extensive playground areas. A dedicated staff maintains a clear focus on literacy and numeracy, which is reflected in the school’s consistently strong academic results. The school offers a variety of experiences in performing arts and sports, including two bands, two choirs, and bi-annual Stage Concerts and Art Shows.
Public speaking and debating are encouraged, with students participating in competitions across various levels. Healthy Living is promoted through the Live Life Well @ School program, which includes focus on fitness, PE/Sport, and nutrition. Competitive inter-school sports are also available for students from Years 2 to 6, along with other sporting activities like tennis and swimming.
Community language programs in Greek and Chinese are offered from Kindergarten to Year 6, and technology is integrated into teaching with multiple computers and interactive whiteboards in classrooms. An active Student Welfare policy underpins the school’s ethos, promoting Core Values such as Learning, Integrity, and Respect. The parent community is actively involved, contributing to classroom activities, the P&C, and the School Council.
