About the school
Fairfield High School is a comprehensive, public co-educational Year 7 to 12 high school located in the Fairfield local government area of south-western Sydney. Established in 1954, the school serves approximately 1,150 students and features an 18-hectare site with state-of-the-art facilities including an Industrial Hospitality Kitchen, Retail Centre, gymnasium, weights room, tennis courts, Ultimate Soccer fields, and specialized Literacy and Numeracy centres. Additionally, it houses a Performing Arts and Drama studio, 21st Century classrooms, a Special Education Unit, and an Intensive English Centre.
The school offers a broad curriculum tailored to meet individual student needs and aspirations, emphasising literacy, numeracy, technology, and vocational learning across all Key Learning Areas and Stages. Students in the junior years study compulsory NESA courses such as English, Mathematics, Science, and History, while also enjoying a range of Stage 5 electives like STEM, Visual Arts, Information Software Technology, and more.
In the senior years, a flexible curriculum allows students to choose from ATAR, non-ATAR, and VET pathways. Subjects include Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, and many others, with vocational courses available in Business Services, Retail Services, Construction, and Hospitality.
Fairfield High School is committed to fostering a supportive environment. It runs programs aimed at promoting academic excellence, well-being, and career development, such as Intensive Reading Programs, Gifted and Talented initiatives, and a free Homework Centre.
