About the school

Canley Vale High School is situated in South Western Sydney and serves a community that faces significant disadvantage. Due to the low socio-economic status of the area, the school receives both Priority School Funding and Priority Action Schools funding. Approximately 95% of the students come from families with a language background other than English, primarily from Vietnam and China, and the school regularly welcomes a large number of international students. The student population has been growing, with enrolments increasing from 785 in 2003 to nearly 1200 in 2010, and continuing to rise in the following years.

Commitment to Excellence

Canley Vale High School is dedicated to helping students achieve their fullest intellectual and social potential. With a wide range of academic and co-curricular programs, the school encourages students to produce their best work. The school fosters a culture where students take ownership of their learning, aspiring to be lifelong learners, and developing into literate, caring, and effective citizens of the world. This commitment is reflected in their inclusive educational environment where every student is known, valued, and challenged.

Community Engagement

The school prides itself on strong community engagement, actively partnering with families and local organisations to enrich student learning experiences. Through collaboration, they create tailored learning opportunities that suit the diverse needs of their students, helping each individual to learn in a way that works best for them.

With its mission to advance equitable educational outcomes, Canley Vale High School aims to prepare students not just academically but also as responsible citizens ready for their futures.
