About the school

Lawrence Hargrave School is a special purpose school catering to up to 63 secondary students with emotional disturbances, behaviour difficulties, and mild intellectual disabilities. The school operates nine classes, each with a maximum of seven students, allowing for personalised attention and support. Specialist teachers provide curriculum in Personal Development, Health & Physical Education, Creative and Practical Arts, and Technical and Applied Sciences, supporting students to achieve life skills or mainstream accreditation.

The school is committed to improving student learning outcomes through an emphasis on literacy, numeracy, quality teaching, student engagement, and vocational education. This is facilitated through a 'case management' approach to wellbeing, wherein personalised learning plans are crafted in collaboration with parents, carers, teachers, and community and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support and improvement in student achievement.

Located at Station St, Warwick Farm, Lawrence Hargrave School boasts a well-resourced facility that provides various programs both in and out of the classroom. These efforts aim to equip students for successful post-school experiences. The school fosters an inclusive environment where students feel safe, respected, and valued, thus promoting a sense of belonging and the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.
