About the school
Orange East Public School has a proud tradition of over 125 years of service to its community. The school achieves its mission, Safe Respectful Learners, through students, staff, and parents working together to create a family atmosphere for its 268 students. The core values espoused through the school-wide Positive Behaviour for Learning program focus on respect, safety, excellence in learning, responsibility, cooperation, fairness, and participation.
Collaborative Learning Environment
Orange East Public School is an integral member of the pre2 learning community, a collaboration of 24 public primary schools in the Orange School Education Group. This partnership enables the sharing of expertise, utilising advanced video conferencing technology and innovative pedagogy. The school aims to provide a caring and supportive environment where all students are expected to achieve. Learning programs focus on the intellectual, social, emotional, cultural, and physical development of each child within the framework of six Key Learning Areas.
Modern Educational Facilities
Each of the eleven classes at the school is equipped with an interactive whiteboard to enhance student engagement and prepare them as 21st-century learners. The school has made significant investments in Chromebook and iPad technology to foster innovative teaching and learning.
Extracurricular Activities
In addition to its strong academic focus, Orange East Public School boasts a successful performing arts program, including dance groups, a choir, and a whole school production every two years. Extracurricular opportunities also include a chess program, public speaking, debating, and various sporting teams like cricket, soccer, and netball. Parent participation is encouraged, facilitated by a strong P&C that leads fundraising initiatives, including the annual East Orange Village Markets.
