A community-focused public school valuing a proud tradition and shaping a positive future.
About the school
Lane Cove Public School has a proud history of academic excellence and has been serving the Lane Cove community since its establishment in 1876. With a current enrolment of approximately 730 students, the school is located near a busy commercial area, providing a vibrant environment for learning. The school focuses on delivering a well-rounded education, encouraging students to set personal goals and strive to achieve their best. Alongside a strong academic curriculum, Lane Cove Public School offers exceptional extra-curricular opportunities, especially in music, with programs including a concert band, jazz ensemble, rock band, orchestra, and various training bands.
In addition to music, the school promotes an extensive sports program and a variety of extra-curricular activities such as debating, public speaking, dance, and choir. Students can also participate in after-school activities, including chess, Hebrew, Japanese, and Mandarin. The dedicated staff at Lane Cove Public School work closely with parents and the broader community to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Currently, the school is undergoing significant infrastructure improvements, following the devastation of a fire in 2020, with plans for new buildings and enhanced facilities set to be ready for the 2025 school year.
