About the school
Riverstone High School is situated on Dharug land and is an integral part of the Riverstone community. It provides a quality education for students from diverse cultures and contexts, with many students having a multi-generational connection to the school. The school has seen a significant expansion in its cultural demographic, with 45 percent of students representing a language background other than English, 25 percent learning English as an additional language or dialect, and 11 percent identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
With a current enrolment of 800 students and a staff of 90, Riverstone High School is experiencing substantial growth due to residential developments in the North West Growth Area. The school prioritises partnerships with local primary schools to ensure continuity of learning and smooth transitions for students starting their high school journey.
Riverstone High School offers a broad curriculum for students in Years 7 to 12, utilising future-focused learning spaces. Stage 6 students have the opportunity to remain at Riverstone High School for their HSC studies, which include a wide selection of subjects and Vocational Education pathways. Additionally, students can access Nirimba Collegiate educational opportunities. The school also provides an Inclusive Education Unit for students with mild intellectual and multi-categorical disabilities, allowing for integration into mainstream electives and senior courses through personalised study plans.
