About the school

Lismore South Public School serves the city district of South Lismore and the nearby rural areas of Rock Valley, Tuncester, McKee's Hill, Loftville, and Ruthven. The school's Vision Statement emphasises engaging students in meaningful learning within content-rich classrooms, nurturing curiosity, stimulating inquiry, and encouraging creativity. The core values of the school, which are being safe, responsible, and respectful, underpin all activities within the school. Lismore South Public School values academic learning, performing arts, sports, Positive Behaviour for Learning, and Stronger Smarter programs, all supported by a committed staff and dedicated community.

Following the extensive damage caused by floods in early 2022, plans are underway to rebuild Lismore South Public School and its preschool, Ngulliboo Jarjums. The new flood-resilient facilities will include 13 modern classrooms, a library, a multi-purpose hall, administration areas, outdoor learning spaces, and separate areas for the preschool.

The school prides itself on inclusivity and offers a high-quality education from Preschool through to Year 6, catering to students from all backgrounds. It aims to ensure a safe, inclusive, and growth-focused environment, allowing each child to learn, grow, and feel supported. With a focus on academic excellence, the school fosters positive relationships with families and engages students in a diverse curriculum that promotes curiosity and creativity.

Mission

At Lismore South Public School, we seek to engage students in meaningful learning in content rich classrooms. We nurture curiosity, stimulate enquiry and encourage creativity. Our values of being safe, responsible and respectful underpin all that we do.
