About the school
Weston Public School is situated three kilometres west of Kurri Kurri, dedicated to fostering individual student development in a safe and happy environment. The school aims to promote continuous student progress through effective education guided by outcomes across all curriculum areas and the integration of technology. Weston Public School benefits from additional financial support from the Priority Schools Program (PSP), reflecting a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities.
The school's core values align closely with those of the NSW Department of Education and Training, demonstrating a focus on student welfare. Weston Public School actively promotes programs such as 'You Can Do It', the Red Cross Breakfast Club, and provides various intra and extra-mural activities to engage students holistically. The school is also involved in training for the National Partnerships Program, which will be implemented over the next six years.
Weston Public School is supported by a proactive Parents and Citizens Association. In collaboration with neighbouring institutions including Kurri Kurri High, Kurri Kurri Public, Pelaw Main Public, Mulbring Public, and Stanford Merthyr Infants, they form the Kurri Kurri Learning Community, ensuring a united and supportive educational network.
Plans are underway for the construction of a new public preschool at Weston Public School, aimed at providing a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. This initiative is part of the NSW Government's significant investment in public preschools, designed to bolster access for families in the region.
