Largs Public School is the oldest public school in Australia operating continuously at the same location. Situated on the northern outskirts of Maitland, the school serves over 145 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 within a nurturing and supportive environment. The dedicated staff focus on the education, wellbeing, and development of each student, fostering strong parent involvement in the school community. Largs Public School places a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy, with 96% of students achieving National Benchmarks. A variety of specialist and support teachers enhance the learning experience through tailored programs, including Project Based Learning and STEM initiatives, designed to encourage higher-order thinking among students in Stages Two and Three.
