About the school
Blacktown Boys High School is a Partially Selective High School designed to cater to the unique needs of boys living in modern society. Its motto, 'Learn to Live', reflects the school’s commitment to fostering self-discipline, providing a broad and challenging curriculum, and maintaining a strong focus on teaching and learning. The school boasts impressive facilities, including three computer rooms, a photography darkroom, interactive whiteboards, and state-of-the-art science laboratories. Sports facilities are equally extensive, with dedicated fields for rugby, soccer, cricket, and baseball, as well as new tennis courts and a drama space.
Blacktown Boys High is committed to excellence in both academic and extracurricular realms, having a well-established tradition in sports and the creative arts. Alumni from Blacktown Boys have successfully ventured into various fields, including medicine, law, education, and the arts. Since 2010, the school has been partially selective, allowing students who excel in the statewide Selective High School entry test to enroll in a dedicated selective class while continuing to offer comprehensive education opportunities to all boys in the community.
Students also benefit from a wide range of musical instruments available through elective music classes as part of a diverse curriculum. The school’s dedicated approach to education ensures that it actively engages with families and the community, creating an environment where every student feels valued and inspired to learn. With a focus on fostering personal development, the school ensures that all students can aspire to achieve their best, both academically and personally.
