Trangie Central School
We help every student to learn, grow and succeed.
About the school
Trangie Central School is a small rural school located 72 km west of the major NSW regional centre of Dubbo. Positioned in an area primarily focused on cotton and crop farming, the school is well-resourced, featuring a multi-purpose sports centre, a modern science laboratory, and trade training facilities for Metals and Engineering and Hospitality. The extensive Agriculture facilities support the delivery of Agriculture 7-12 and VET Primary Industries. The school boasts a high ratio of student-to-computer access through its computer facilities and video-conference rooms.
The dedicated staff, a blend of youth and experience, have seen an increase in student numbers, which has allowed for a wider range of subjects and the growth of the school’s executive team. With a commitment to extra-curricular activities in the Creative and Performing Arts, Sport, and Agriculture, students are provided with opportunities to excel, which in turn fosters self-esteem and overall well-being.
Trangie Central School upholds high expectations within a culture of acceptance, tolerance, and kindness, supported by a Wellbeing Policy that emphasises being Safe, Respectful Learners. Early intervention is vital to the school's approach, and programs like the Early Birds Transition to School provide pre-enrolment experiences that help foster a sense of belonging and preparedness for new students.
The school embraces strong community connections, actively involving families and promoting respect within its community. The P&C's engagement underlines this collaborative spirit, demonstrating the school’s role as a vital resource within the Trangie community, committed to the health and well-being of its members.
