About the school
Heathcote East Public School is located on the western edge of the Royal National Park in a welcoming residential area. The school aims to achieve excellence by providing students with stimulating learning opportunities that encourage initiative, self-direction, and commitment, preparing them for a changing world. It fosters a warm and positive environment while actively engaging with the local community. Students participate in voluntary community service activities, supporting initiatives such as Stewart House, Pay It Forward, and Clean Up Australia, and get involved in the School Parliament in their senior years.
The school employs a Synthetic Phonics program in the junior grades to enhance reading and spelling skills, complemented by the CMIT approach to improve numeracy. Students can join various extracurricular activities, including a vocal ensemble, bands, and multiple dance groups, along with participating in a range of sports and PSSA competitions. The school's dedication to technology is evident with interactive whiteboards and computer facilities available in every classroom. Heathcote East Public School serves as a comprehensive educational environment from Kindergarten to Year 6, encouraging a holistic approach to learning and personal development.
