NSW public schools teaching Year 12
Year 12 is the final year of school and the Higher School Certificate (HSC) year. The schools below are every NSW public high school, senior college, senior campus and central school that teaches to Year 12.
The HSC
Students study at least 10 units of HSC courses, including two units of English. School-based assessment through the year is combined with the written HSC examinations held in October and November, and NESA releases results in December. Students who want a university offer receive an ATAR from the Universities Admissions Centre, calculated from their HSC results. SchoolAtlas does not publish HSC results or rank schools by them.
Pathways
Not every Year 12 student aims for an ATAR: HSC study can include VET courses that lead to trade or industry qualifications, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, and pathways programs spread over more than one year.
