NSW public schools teaching Year 11
Year 11 is the first year of Stage 6, the senior years, in which students study Preliminary HSC courses. The schools listed below include comprehensive and selective high schools, senior colleges that teach only Years 11 and 12, and central schools.
Preliminary courses
Students must study at least 12 units of Preliminary courses, including at least two units of English. Courses are chosen from NESA Board Developed subjects, Board Endorsed courses and VET (vocational education and training) courses, some delivered through TAFE. Preliminary results are recorded on the RoSA for students who leave before the HSC.
Senior colleges and campuses
Several NSW public senior colleges enrol students only for Years 11 and 12, often with a more adult learning environment and a wide course range. Multi-campus colleges group a senior campus with junior campuses in the same area. Because these schools have no Years 7 to 10, they appear on this list and the Year 12 list but not on the earlier high-school years.
