About the school
Coffs Harbour High School is a comprehensive secondary school located on the mid-north coast of NSW, serving the Coffs Harbour community since 1938. With an enrolment of approximately 975 students, including 90 Aboriginal students, the school has a strong demand for places. It offers a wide-ranging curriculum that draws from the natural environment, supporting different Key Learning Areas while promoting student welfare through core values of care, commitment, cooperation, and courtesy.
The school is committed to whole-child development, acknowledging the intertwined academic, physical, emotional, and social needs of students. It boasts an effective student welfare program and encourages student leadership through structures such as Prefects, the Student Representative Council (SRC), and a Student Environmental Council.
Coffs Harbour High promotes various enrichment opportunities, including major excursions for different year groups - a team-building camp for Year 7, an outdoor challenge camp for Year 8, a week-long excursion to the Snowy Mountains for Year 9, and a trip to Heron Island for Year 11 science students. Furthermore, the school has established a Confucius classroom, hosting Chinese language assistants and facilitating cultural exchange with China.
