Camden Park Environmental Education Centre

Camden Park Environmental Education Centre is a one-teacher centre located on the expansive 1600ha research property of the Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute. The Centre offers a variety of on-site programs that make use of the distinctive features of the property, including Belgenny Farm, Australia's oldest set of farm buildings. It is dedicated to providing field study activities that support school programs and promote environmental education within the community.

Core Activities

The Centre engages in a wide range of educational initiatives, including in-school programs and off-site excursions, that enable students to explore and understand environmental issues. By collaborating with teachers, it develops syllabus-relevant fieldwork designed to enhance classroom learning experiences. Moreover, the Centre assists communities in implementing the Environmental Education Policy through conducting environmental audits and developing School Environmental Management Plans.

Support for Environmental Education

In addition to field studies, Camden Park Environmental Education Centre supports various school-based initiatives related to environmental education, including the establishment of sustainable schools committees. These efforts aim to instil a sense of environmental responsibility among students and foster a commitment to sustainability within the educational framework.
