Gerogery Public School
We help every student to learn, grow and succeed.
About the school
Gerogery Public School serves the community of Gerogery and its surrounding properties, welcoming children who travel to school via the local bus service. Nestled in picturesque surroundings, the school boasts large shady trees and well-kept gardens. Adjacent to the school is a three-hectare field utilised for environmental education, which includes a newly established vegetable garden and fruit orchard. The school is dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning programmes, with staff committed to enhancing their curriculum knowledge through professional development. As a result, students are encouraged to strive for their personal best.
The school's pride extends to its academic, welfare, sporting, and cultural programs. An active parent and citizens committee meets monthly to raise funds and support the school community. Gerogery Public has strong international connections with schools such as Lark Rise Lower School in England, Stronie in Poland, and Gustaf Dreyer School in Berlin. Notably, in 2009, a group from Gerogery travelled to England to strengthen these ties through educational collaboration.
Currently, the school is in its inaugural year of the Early Action for Success initiative, which focuses on improving student outcomes in literacy and numeracy. Equipped with modern teaching resources, including interactive whiteboards in classrooms and a favourable computer-to-student ratio, the school's facilities support a robust learning environment. Active participation in local events reinforces the school’s connection to the Gerogery community, embodying a culture of care and commitment to excellence, where every child is encouraged to perform at their best.
