Casino Public School
Giving opportunities, excellence and success.
About the school
Casino Public School is located on the North Coast of NSW, within a rural shire, and just 500 metres from the town centre, making it accessible for students who travel by public transport or walk. Established in 1861, the school has an enrolment of 590 students across 22 regular classes, four Support Unit classes, and an Aboriginal Preschool, with Aboriginal students comprising 17% of the total enrolment. The school is committed to providing a caring and safe environment that promotes individual development and focuses heavily on literacy and numeracy, along with tailored learning programs for students with special needs.
The school actively involves students, parents, staff, and the community in enhancing educational experiences through effective teaching, discipline, and participation. It aims to instil values of safety, respect, responsibility, and cooperation. Students are recognised for their adherence to these values through an award system. Casino Public School is well-resourced, offering air-conditioned learning environments equipped with interactive whiteboards and internet access, and provides various extracurricular activities such as band, choir, dance, and sports.
As part of the 'Hub of Summerland Learning Community', the school works collaboratively with other local schools to provide excellence and success in educational outcomes. Current infrastructure improvements reflect ongoing support for a high-quality educational experience, ensuring that students engage in a rich learning environment. Casino Public School is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture that values every child’s contributions and well-being.
