About the school
Peats Ridge Public School is a unique and innovative institution located in the rural mountains district, 20km north-west of Gosford. Nestled within beautifully manicured gardens, the school provides a small yet vibrant educational environment where every student is known, valued, and nurtured. The school's commitment to exploration, creativity, and imagination makes learning exciting and student-focused. Guided by the core values of respect, responsibility, and excellence, Peats Ridge Public School delivers evidence-based, high-quality education with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, alongside critical thinking and enquiry processes.
The school caters primarily to the communities of Peats Ridge, Mt. White, and Calga, with an inclusive approach that welcomes students from diverse backgrounds. Currently, 12% of students come from a language background other than English. While there are no students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, the institution recognizes its proximity to the Boree Track songline and significant sites of the Darkinjung people. Peats Ridge Public School enjoys strong community support and maintains active partnerships with other small schools in the area, enhancing opportunities for students through shared events and resources.
Prioritizing a positive school climate, the school implements the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, paving the way for students to thrive in a safe learning environment. With a strong commitment to their academic and personal development, Peats Ridge Public School aims to equip children with the skills necessary to lead fulfilling, productive lives in a complex and dynamic world.
