About the school
Marrickville West Public School, established in 1886, is located in the inner western suburbs of Sydney, between Marrickville and Dulwich Hill train stations. The school serves a culturally and socially diverse community, with around 50% of students from language backgrounds other than English and 8% identifying as Aboriginal, representing over 40 different languages.
Educational Offering
The school is experiencing growing enrolment numbers and currently offers 15 mainstream classes along with a support class for autism. In addition to classroom teachers, Marrickville West employs specialist staff focusing on music, learning support, English language, creative and performing arts, languages other than English, and sport.

Programs and Activities
Students engage in a variety of enriching activities across literacy, public speaking, numeracy, information technology, science, and the arts. Each student has the opportunity to learn one of four community languages, with Aboriginal, Multicultural, Environmental, and Values Education embedded throughout the curriculum. Furthermore, strong partnerships with parents and the local community enhance the educational experience, supported by an active Parents & Citizens committee and the School as Community Centre on-site.
