教授八年级的新州公立中学
八年级是 Stage 4（中学前两年）的最后一年。学生已适应分科课表；在大部分学校，这是完成必修语言课程并首次为九年级选择选修科的一年。
语言与选修科
NESA 规定每名学生须在 Stage 4 完成 100 小时的一门英语以外语言课程，以连续课程形式教授，多数在七年级或八年级进行。八年级末，学生选择 Stage 5 选修科；各校提供的科目不同，可包括其他语言、视觉及表演艺术、技术、商业、体能活动及其他课程。
