设有学前班的新州公立学校
**教育部学前班（Department pre-school）**是设于新州公立学校校内的幼儿教育服务，供入读幼儿园前一年的儿童就读。只有少数公立学校设有学前班，因此此列表远比幼儿园列表短。
谁可以入读
儿童在年满四岁当年可以入读，但须于该年 7 月 31 日或之前满四岁。学位有限，按教育部政策优先录取原住民及托雷斯海峡岛民儿童、低收入家庭儿童，以及有残障或额外需要的儿童。一般为每周固定天数的非全日制形式，教育部学前班目前免收学费。
儿童学什么
学前班不属于 NESA 的学校课程。课程遵循全国的幼儿学习框架（Early Years Learning Framework），注重以游戏为本的学习、语言、社交技能及自信心，而非正式的读写训练。学前班设于同一校址，可让儿童更熟悉之后升读幼儿园的环境，但入读某校的学前班本身并不保证能在该校取得幼儿园学位。
