About the school
Tullimbar Public School is located under the majestic cliffs of the Illawarra escarpment in the foothills of Macquarie Pass, just minutes away from Albion Park's business centre. The school is committed to promoting excellence in education by maximising the full potential of all students through quality teaching and learning programs, all within a dynamic, stimulating, and caring environment. With an inclusive focus, Tullimbar Public School expertly caters to the individual needs of every child through relevant learning experiences provided by skilled and innovative educators.
The school supports a learning community comprising four support classes and eleven mainstream classes, with integration opportunities for support class students within mainstream programs. Notable initiatives include the Focus on Reading program, the L3 program (Language, Learning and Literacy), Comprehension Across the Syllabus (CATS), and the Best Start Assessment program for Kindergarten students. Tullimbar also participates in literacy intervention programs such as Reading Recovery.
To foster a positive school culture, a variety of student welfare programs are in place, including the You Can Do It program, which teaches keys to success like persistence, confidence, resilience, getting along, and organisation. Additionally, the Go For Gold program encourages high standards of manners and respect among students. Extra-curricular activities such as choir, public speaking, debating, Wakakirri, and PSSA sport training further enrich student experiences.
The Tullimbar community welcomes parents to engage actively through classroom assistance, assemblies, and the Parents and Citizens' Association. The school's focus is on developing students' academic, social, and emotional capabilities to equip them for future challenges.
