About the school
Weilmoringle Public School is a small educational institution located in far north western New South Wales, serving a community of approximately 60 people, 90% of whom are of Aboriginal background. The school is committed to creating a happy, safe, respectful, and stimulating environment tailored to the individual learning needs of its students. A strong emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy, supplemented by the Country Area Program and Priority Schools Program. Weilmoringle Public School integrates the Reading 2 Learn strategies into its literacy programs and offers numerous extracurricular activities, including swimming, athletics, sports, technology camps, and whole-school excursions. The school takes pride in its students' achievements, with many qualifying for district and regional athletics, cross country, and swimming carnivals.
The school fosters community involvement, encouraging local residents to participate in various activities such as end-of-term assemblies, fetes, Parents and Citizens Association meetings, in-class tutoring, and community barbeques.
