About the school
Wee Jasper Public School is a small, isolated institution situated on nine acres in the scenic Goodradigbee Valley, established in 1899 as a one-teacher school. The school encourages students to be achievers by setting both short and long-term goals while fostering an optimistic outlook on life. Pupils leave with solid numeracy, literacy, and technology skills, alongside a nurturing interest in the natural environment, which encompasses flora, fauna, landforms, and activities like camping, fishing, gardening, and various sports.
The school prides itself on offering a broad range of learning opportunities, addressing the challenges of isolation by promoting inter-school activities to enhance social and cultural experiences. Students participate in many overnight camps and day trips throughout the year. The active Parents and Citizens Committee, along with strong community support, significantly enriches the school's programs. Parental engagement is deeply valued, forming a vital part of the school's ethos.
The school's mission revolves around creating a welcoming environment where every student feels safe and included from their very first day, ensuring that each child is known, valued, and cared for. The dedicated staff work collaboratively with families to promote each child's success and well-being, underpinning a commitment to high-quality education and personal growth. With excellent facilities and a supportive community, Wee Jasper Public School stands as a pillar of educational excellence in the area.
