About the school
Collins Creek Public School is a small rural P6 school nestled at the foothills of the Border Ranges National Park, approximately 15 km north of Kyogle. The school prides itself on fostering a strong sense of community, supported by dedicated, highly-trained staff, a committed parent body, enthusiastic volunteers, and diligent students. Collins Creek Public School embraces a holistic approach to education, implementing quality programs centred on Values and Sustainability, and focusing on the development of the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally.
With a high adult-to-student ratio, the school offers tailored learning in small groups for literacy and numeracy. Arts education is emphasised, with music tuition available in keyboard, drum, marimba, guitar, and recorder. The school is also a participant in the 'Scientists in Schools' program, enhancing STEM learning opportunities.
The school's facilities include large, well-shaded play areas, ensuring a happy and healthy environment that caters to individual learning needs. Positive behaviour is rewarded through student support programs based on rights and responsibilities, allowing students to actively participate in decision-making through the student representative council, which includes representatives from Year 3 to Year 6.
Values such as honesty, respect, hard work, and kindness are integral to the school’s culture, which fosters an inclusive learning environment. Collins Creek Public School invites parents and the community to engage with the school, ensuring students are well-supported in their educational journeys.
