Lake Munmorah Public School
We help every student to learn, grow and succeed.
About the school
Lake Munmorah Public School (LMPS) is situated strategically between the southern shore of Lake Macquarie and the northern shore of Lake Munmorah, forming part of the Lakes Learning Community of schools. LMPS caters to 437 students, ranging from preschool through to Year 6 across 17 mainstream classes, providing a robust and comprehensive teaching and learning program.
Educational Environment
The school prides itself on creating a caring and dynamic educational environment that is open and accessible. It actively seeks feedback and input from the community through focus groups and the P&C Association, ensuring that the decisions reflect the community's interests. The staff at LMPS is dedicated to achieving the highest educational standards through flexible structures, aiming for the best outcomes for all students.
Curriculum and Support
To enhance student learning, LMPS has implemented targeted curriculum interventions, such as the Focus on Reading 3-6 program and the Teaching Early Numeracy (TEN) program. A dedicated team of teachers and support staff provides exceptional service delivery, fostering a learning community where each child’s individuality is recognised and promoted. The school strengthens its core values through Program Achieve, focusing on social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing, while also recognising positive student behaviours through a reward system centred around the five core values: Quality Work, Confidence, Persistence, Organisation, and Getting Along.
Community Involvement
The active participation of the School Learning Community (SLC), comprising teachers, students, parents, and local businesses, enables the school to provide diverse educational opportunities. It is the school’s belief that students can achieve success in a nurturing environment, reinforcing the commitment to open communication and continual development within the SLC.
Mission
At Lake Munmorah Public School, students are challenged to learn and continually improve in a respectful and inclusive environment. We inspire our students and the community to be confident and creative lifelong learners, who are empowered to reach their individual potential and strive for excellence.
