About the school
Galston High School is a comprehensive, co-educational community school located in a picturesque bushland setting in rural Sydney's north. The school spans over nine hectares and is accessible via bus transport. Student intake is drawn from thirty primary schools within the Hornsby, Baulkham Hills, and Hawkesbury local government shires. To facilitate a smoother transition for students, Galston High has established the 'Galston Community of Schools' in collaboration with the local primary institutions.
The school takes pride in fostering a nurturing and safe environment where a challenging and quality curriculum is delivered. Its academic achievements are reflected in outstanding HSC results, demonstrating a strong culture of learning. Extracurricular options abound, including a range of sports, a pipes and drums band, equestrian teams, and bi-annual stage musicals, which enhance student engagement beyond academics.
Galston High School actively promotes the core values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best through its Positive Behaviour Engaging Learners (PLEL) program. The school offers vocational courses tailored to students' varied interests and aspirations.
In addition to academic and extracurricular offerings, Galston High School is committed to community engagement, ensuring that every student feels connected and valued. The school’s environment encourages students to collaborate, innovate, and excel in all areas of their education, paving the way for their future successes.
