About the school
Scone High School is a small, rural, comprehensive co-educational school serving students in Years 7-12. Located in the Upper Hunter region, the school prides itself on delivering consistent academic performance and Higher School Certificate results. A diverse curriculum caters to a wide array of interests, including dance, drama, music, visual arts, sport, and agriculture. Senior students have access to Extension courses in English, History, and Mathematics, as well as comprehensive Science courses such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, and Investigating Science, ensuring a robust educational experience.
As the lead school of the Upper Hunter Trade Training Centre, Scone High collaborates with nearby schools and TAFE to offer a variety of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. This innovative partnership enriches the student's learning opportunities within the region. Additionally, Scone High School is identified as a Centre of Excellence in Agriculture, with a proud tradition in equestrian sports and an outstanding record at state competitions.
